EditPDF.pro is built with privacy as a core principle. Unlike traditional online PDF tools, your files never leave your device.

What We Collect

Data We DO Collect

• Anonymous Usage Analytics: We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how people use our service (page views, browser types, general location by country). This data is completely anonymous and cannot be linked to any individual.

Data We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Your PDF Files: Files are processed entirely in your browser's memory and never uploaded to our servers
• ❌ Personal Information: No names, emails, or account creation required
• ❌ PDF Content: We never see, store, or analyze the content of your documents
• ❌ Edit History: Your editing session is not tracked or stored on our servers

How Your Data is Handled

Local Browser Storage (IndexedDB)

We use your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) to save:

• Saved Signatures: Signatures you create and choose to save for reuse
• Custom Stamps: Custom stamps you create
• Edit History Metadata: List of recent edits (filename, timestamp, thumbnail) - NOT the actual PDF content
• User Preferences: Your default font, color choices, and tool settings

Important: This data stays on YOUR device. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser's local storage/site data.

PDF Processing

When you upload a PDF:

1. File is loaded into browser memory as an ArrayBuffer
2. PDF.js and pdf-lib process the document in-memory
3. Fabric.js renders the canvas for visual editing
4. All operations happen in JavaScript running in your browser
5. When you download, the edited PDF is created in-memory and downloaded directly to your device
6. After you close the tab, everything is cleared from memory

Third-Party Services

Ahrefs Web Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics for anonymous usage statistics:

• Data Collected: Page views, referrers, browser type, device type, country
• Data NOT Collected: IP addresses, personal information, PDF content
• Purpose: Understanding how people use EditPDF.pro to improve the service

No Other Third-Party Services

We do NOT use:

• ❌ Google Analytics
• ❌ Facebook Pixel
• ❌ Cloud storage providers
• ❌ Email marketing services
• ❌ Customer support chat widgets

Data Retention

• On Our Servers: Zero Days - We don't store any user data, PDF files, or personal information
• On Your Device: Data in IndexedDB persists until you manually clear it
• Session-Based: PDF files in memory are cleared when you close the tab

Your Rights

You have complete control:

• Right to Access: All your data is in your browser - check IndexedDB via Developer Tools
• Right to Delete: Clear browser storage anytime
• Right to Export: Download your saved signatures and stamps from browser storage
• Right to Privacy: No accounts, no tracking, no data collection of PDF content
